About CLI Relay
The Problem
AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenAI Codex, and Cursor CLI are transforming how developers work. But there's a catch: they're tethered to your local machine. Step away from your desk, and you lose access to your AI pair programmer.
I've been there—needing to check on a long-running AI task from my phone, wanting to continue a coding session from a different computer, or simply wishing I could access my terminal from anywhere without complex VPN setups.
The Solution
I'm a developer who primarily built CLI Relay for myself. It's a lightweight relay service that lets you access any CLI tool through a secure web interface. No port forwarding, no VPN configuration, no complex setup—just wrap your command and access it from any browser.
Your sessions persist through network interruptions, browser closes, and device switches. Start a task on your workstation, check it from your phone during lunch, and continue from your laptop at home.
Now I'm sharing it to see if others find it useful too. Whether you're using Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenAI Codex, Cursor CLI, or any other terminal-based tool, CLI Relay can help you stay connected to your work.
Our Values
Simplicity
One command to start, one URL to access. We believe the best tools are the ones that get out of your way.
Security
All connections are encrypted. Your sessions are authenticated. We never store your terminal output.
Transparency
CLI Relay is open source. Inspect the code, self-host if you prefer, or contribute to make it better.
Sustainability
1% of our revenue goes to climate initiatives. Small actions add up.
